We are delighted to announce that Leon Ward will be joining TaxAid as our CEO in October.
Leon is currently the CEO of the charity Money Ready and brings to TaxAid a strong track record of leading and growing organisations driven by their purpose, developing services that meet the needs of beneficiaries, and securing the resources and partnerships needed to increase impact. In recruiting Leon, the Trustees were struck by his ability to develop a clear vision, lead organisational change and maintain a strong focus on the needs of beneficiaries; which he has demonstrated as both an executive and trustee across a number of charities.
We would like to thank Valerie Boggs who, after ten successful years as our Director of Advice and then CEO, has left TaxAid to take on new opportunities. She leaves a remarkable legacy in the thousands of people each year whose lives have been transformed by the work of the charity. She developed a strong Senior Management Team and successfully delivered the merger with Tax Help for Older People, leaving TaxAid with a sound foundation for the future.
Leon is keen to join TaxAid because he believes deeply in the charity’s purpose and recognises the vital role it plays in ensuring that people on low incomes can access high-quality tax advice and support. He also sees significant opportunities to build on the charity’s strong foundations and increase its reach and impact in the years ahead.
The Trustees believe that Leon will lead us into an exciting new chapter as we continue to evolve the organisation, strengthen our services and increase our impact.
