Stop, breathe, talk to us.

We've got this.

We understand that tax problems can cause stress. And alongside the other pressures of life, you could find yourself feeling like you are unable to cope.

We know that reaching out for help can be hard, but we promise to treat every question as valid, every person with care, and every situation as unique.

Whether you call our helpline or use our online tax guides, we can help get your tax problem sorted.

Our helpline

Our helpline provides free, expert support for people who can’t access professional tax advice – whether that’s due to cost, health issues, or personal challenges that make finding the right help difficult.

Our expert advisers are experienced in sorting out tax issues for people who are struggling with tax, from problems with Self Assessment to unexpected tax bills. They’ll help you solve your problem on the call or refer you to one of our case workers if your issue needs a bit more work.

Who we help.

When you call, we’ll ask you about:

  • your yearly income (in most cases we’re only able to offer help if you’re earning under £28,000)
  • any debts or savings you have
  • any personal circumstances or situations that are affecting you.
  • any hardships or issues that make it difficult for you to get the help you need.

Just so you know, we can’t help with Corporation Tax (Limited Companies), tax planning, Tax Credits, benefits, Council tax or non-UK tax issues.

We know that it can be difficult to take that step and ask for help. Call us and speak to a tax expert who’s in your corner.

Call us.

If you need a quick response please ring our helpline first, as it can take up to 14 days for a reply to our contact form.

If it is difficult to use the phone due to a disability then please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
