No one wants to pay more tax than they legitimately owe. When people turn to us for help, they are often in crisis with a tax debt they do not understand and may not even owe. The professional advice they need is unaffordable, but their tax debt is mounting. Our expert advisers and volunteers from the tax profession are there to help for as long as the help is needed. But we need your support to fund our work.
We help people like Emma, a self-employed widowed mother, with dyslexia, who upon receiving late filing penalties by post, simply paid them thinking this would resolve her tax liability. As the penalties kept coming in, she became increasingly stressed. She paid £4,700 in penalties when her annual income was only £6,000. We helped her to complete her outstanding tax return, and appeal the penalties, leaving her with a full refund and a better understanding of how to manage her taxes.
TaxAid helps around 6,000 people with their taxes every year but we need your support so that we can continue to deliver our unique service. Please make a donation to help us help people like Emma.

Donate regularly by Standing Order
Regular donations of any amount by Standing Order are very important to us. To set up a regular monthly donation, please use this form. If you are unable to print this form, please contact us and we will be happy to send one to you.
Payroll giving
Making a monthly donation through your salary is an extremely efficient way of giving. Donations are deducted before tax is calculated, so if you donate £5 per month you contribute only £4 (as a basic rate taxpayer) and the taxman makes up the difference. Please ask your payroll department at work if they operate such a scheme.
Donate by cheque
You can make a donation by cheque, made payable to TaxAid. If you are a taxpayer and would like to Gift Aid your donation, please let us know and we will send you a Gift Aid form. Please send cheques made payable to TaxAid to 30 Monck St, London SW1P 2AP
Gift Aid
With Gift Aid, we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate if you are a UK taxpayer and making the donation from your own funds. That means Gift Aid can increase the value of your donations by 25%, so if you donate £10 it is worth £12.50 to us if you Gift Aid it. To make a Gift Aid donation you will need to make a Gift Aid declaration by completing a simple form – one form can cover every gift made to the same charity for whatever period you choose, and can cover gifts you have already made and/or gifts you may make in the future. If you are unable to print this form, please contact us and we will be happy to send one out to you.
Please make sure that you pay enough tax to cover your Gift Aid donation. For example, if you pay £500 in tax a year you can Gift Aid up to £2,000 of donations.
Thank you, we are extremely grateful for any donation that you are able to make.
