‘Thank you. You have helped such a lot. I felt lost and confused but now I know what I need to do.’
By remembering TaxAid in your will, you will help provide vital help and advice for taxpayers on low incomes. Tax is complicated and many people need help to ensure that they are paying the right amount, especially if their working and personal lives are complicated. Many of the people we help have multiple jobs, are self-employed or employed in precarious roles—many also have health or social challenges. Struggling to make ends meet, they cannot afford the professional tax advice and support they need to resolve their stressful tax problem.
No matter how difficult or simple the tax problem, TaxAid is there to help for as long as our help is needed.
Leaving a legacy to TaxAid allows you to help us continue our important work without using up any savings you may need in the future. What is more, as legacies to charities are exempt from Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax, more of your money will be spent in the way that you decide.
No legacy is too small
When it comes to writing your will, we know that you will need to care for your loved ones first and strongly recommend that you seek independent professional advice.
When you are considering leaving a gift in your will to TaxAid there are different options to consider:
- Pecuniary bequest – this is when you specify a particular sum of money
- Residuary bequest – this is when you specify a percentage/proportion of your estate after other gifts have been made. You might leave this to one charity or many.
Of course, you don’t have to tell us that you are leaving us a gift in your will. But if you do, we will be able to thank you, and keep you informed of our work.
